If BeReal isn’t showing friends’ posts, first check whether it’s one friend or everyone. One missing person usually points to a friendship or privacy issue; a blank or stale feed for everyone is more likely a loading, app, or service problem. Check the friendship and feed you’re viewing before signing out or reinstalling—those steps can make it harder to get back into your account if you can’t receive its verification code.
Start with these quick checks
- Check whether the friend actually posted. A daily notification doesn’t mean someone has already shared a BeReal. If you can, ask the person whether they posted today.
- Work out how widespread the problem is. Is one friend missing, are several missing, or is the whole feed blank or showing old posts?
- Make sure you’re checking the right feed. The Friends feed, Friends of Friends, recommendations, and a person’s profile are different places. A recommendation is not an accepted friendship.
- Try a low-risk refresh. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, force-close BeReal, then reopen it. If the feed still looks stale, restart your phone.
These refresh steps are general app troubleshooting, not a guaranteed BeReal repair. If only one person is missing, start with the friendship checks below instead of repeatedly refreshing.
If only one friend’s posts are missing
Confirm you’re still BeReal friends
Tap the friend icon in the top-left and search for the person’s current username. Check whether they’re listed as a friend, whether a request is pending, or whether you’re being prompted to add them. BeReal says you can’t view a recommended user’s BeReals or Memories from the recommendations list; the person must accept your friend request for ordinary Friends-feed visibility. If the friendship is gone, you may have removed each other, or the person may have blocked you. Removing a friend ends the friendship, so reconnecting requires a new request. Blocking also removes an existing friendship and prevents the blocked person from seeing or reacting to the blocker’s BeReals. BeReal doesn’t notify someone when they’ve been blocked, and the app may not tell you that this is what happened. Don’t try to work around another person’s privacy choice. Don’t remove and re-add someone speculatively. First confirm that the friendship has actually disappeared; a new request may need the other person’s approval. If their username changed, ask them for the current one and search again.
Check whether you blocked the person by accident
On your profile, open the three-dot menu, then go to Privacy → Blocked Users. If the friend is listed and you blocked them accidentally, tap the X beside their name and confirm. You may need to send a new friend request afterward. Menu labels can shift as BeReal updates its interface.

If all or several friends’ posts are missing
A problem affecting multiple friends is less likely to be a single friendship setting. Try these steps in order:

Open another app or website. Then switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or vice versa, and check BeReal again.
- Force-close BeReal and reopen it. This gives the app another chance to load the feed, though repeatedly opening it doesn’t guarantee a server refresh.
- Restart your phone. Check whether the feed updates after the restart.
- Update BeReal. Look for an available update in the Apple App Store or Google Play. The available version can change; you don’t need to match a particular version number from an old guide.
- Consider clearing temporary data. On many Android phones, the approximate path is Settings → Apps → BeReal → Storage → Clear cache. Phone menus vary. Choose Clear cache, not Clear storage or Clear data, unless you understand that those options can remove local app data.
- On iPhone, consider offloading BeReal before deleting it, if that option is available in your device settings. iOS doesn’t provide one universal cache-clear button for every app.
Cache clearing, offloading, and reinstalling may help with local app trouble, but none is a confirmed fix for every missing-feed problem.

Protect your account before signing out or reinstalling
Before signing out or deleting BeReal, confirm that you can access the phone number linked to your account and receive its SMS verification messages. Check the country code and number, and note your username and phone model. If you can’t receive the verification code, signing out or reinstalling could leave you unable to log in. Treat reinstalling as a later step—especially if the app also crashes or other parts of it fail—not as the first fix.
If Friends of Friends posts are missing
Friends of Friends is not the same as the ordinary Friends feed. If direct friends’ posts appear but mutual friends’ posts don’t, check whether you hid that person: go to Profile → three-dot menu → Privacy → Hidden Users. If you hid them accidentally, tap the X beside their name.

The poster’s audience setting matters, too. BeReal’s audience options include My friends only and My friends + their friends. A post shared with “My friends only” won’t appear to friends of friends. Friends of Friends availability is also limited to certain regions. These audience rules explain missing mutual-friend posts, but they aren’t the usual explanation when a confirmed direct friend’s post is missing from your Friends feed. When to contact BeReal
Contact support if the feed remains blank or stale after the basic checks, several users are affected, or the app fails in other areas too. A problem across Wi-Fi and mobile data may point to an app, account, or service issue, but these symptoms alone don’t confirm a BeReal outage. User reports describe similar loading problems, but anecdotes aren’t evidence of a current platform-wide outage.

In BeReal, go to Profile → three-dot menu → Help → Contact us, or email [email protected]. BeReal’s official Contact us page lists its support route. Include your username, phone model, iOS or Android version, BeReal app version, when the issue began, whether one friend or everyone is affected, which networks you tested, and the troubleshooting steps you tried. Attach a screenshot or screen recording if it helps show the problem.

- Don’t assume every missing post means BeReal is down; diagnose whether one person or everyone is affected.
- Don’t delete or reinstall the app until you’ve confirmed that you can access your account’s phone number and receive a login code.
- Don’t install unofficial BeReal repair tools or phone-cleaner apps, or use a VPN as a first-line fix. There’s no evidence here that they restore a missing feed, and they can create privacy or security risks.

- Respect a friend’s choice to remove or block you, or limit a post’s audience.
