ITCN Asia’s 26th edition took place at Expo Centre Karachi from September 23–25, 2025. The business-focused technology exhibition brought together IT and telecom companies, startups, government bodies and international delegates, alongside sessions on AI, fintech, cybersecurity and policy. Organizers and government sources promoted it as Pakistan’s largest or premier tech expo; the available evidence does not independently establish that ranking or verify the event’s headline attendance and business-impact claims.

The event has since passed. The official Karachi event page now promotes a later edition, so its 2025 dates, hours and visitor information are historical, not current registration details.
More than a consumer gadget show
ITCN Asia was positioned as a trade exhibition and conference platform, not simply a public display of devices. Its intended audience included enterprise buyers, technology vendors, investors, startup founders, government and industry representatives, international delegates, and IT professionals. The visitor guide also described networking and business-matchmaking facilities.

The official program and visitor materials covered a broad range of sectors: artificial intelligence and generative AI, cybersecurity, cloud and data-centre infrastructure, fintech and banking technology, e-commerce, enterprise software, education and healthcare technology, government services, 5G and telecommunications, startup development, skills and workforce development, and technology policy. That breadth made the expo relevant to people exploring Pakistan’s ICT market, but it also means that a visitor seeking deep technical training in one specialty might have preferred a more focused conference.

What the announced program covered
The published agenda spread conference and workshop programming across the three exhibition days. The event site cautioned that its program could change, so a listing is evidence of what was announced—not proof that every session took place as scheduled.
- September 23: The exhibition opened, with an inaugural session, the Fintech Forward Forum and a National IT Board session on the announced program.
- September 24: Listed topics included entrepreneurship, strategy and leadership; the Future Leaders Award conference; National IT Board programming; and P@SHA policy and skills roundtables. A Cloudflare workshop was billed around web-asset security, web application firewalls, DDoS mitigation, Zero Trust and security practices.
- September 25: The agenda listed vendor workshops, a Generative AI Conference, the AI Beyond Borders Summit, a diversity and inclusion roundtable, and a discussion of Pakistan’s transition from services to startups, alongside additional National IT Board sessions.
For visitors, that schedule offered different entry points: fintech and government technology on the first day; skills, entrepreneurship and security on the second; and AI, startups and inclusion on the third. The exhibition and meetings were likely the more direct draw for buyers and vendors, while the talks and workshops offered context and learning opportunities.
Exhibitors, pavilions and participants
The visitor guide described participation and zones linked to the Pakistan Software Export Board, State Bank of Pakistan banking and fintech activity, Ignite, the capital-market ecosystem and PSX brokers, World CIO Premium, and Startup Asia Expo. It also promoted networking lounges and business matchmaking. These descriptions establish the event’s planned scope, but they should not be read as an independently audited list of every organization that exhibited.

P@SHA, Pakistan’s IT industry association, was associated with roundtables, while Internet Society Pakistan was identified as an outreach partner. Federal IT and Telecom Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja took part in the September 23 inauguration, according to the Pakistan Press Information Department (PID).
The event was organized by Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan’s Expo Centre schedule independently supports the Karachi venue booking for September 23–25 and lists exhibition activity across Halls 1 and 2, alongside Lights and LED Asia activity in Halls 3 and 4. Because the expo’s online directory can feature information for later editions, a present-day listing should not by itself be treated as proof that a particular company attended in 2025.
How to read the scale claims
Official event and government materials described a large show, but their figures differ and are not presented as independently audited results:
- The government’s pre-event announcement expected more than 50,000 attendees and cited participation from more than 25 countries.
- The official visitor guide advertised more than 60,000 trade visitors, 700-plus exhibitors or booths, 3,000-plus global brands, more than 100 international delegates and 850-plus government representatives and C-suite executives.
These are promotional or projected figures, not a verified post-event count. They also measure different things: expected total attendance is not necessarily comparable with a claimed trade-visitor total. Booths, brands, delegates and visitors are not interchangeable measures of commercial reach. High footfall can include students, officials, exhibitors’ staff and general visitors; it does not show how many qualified buyers attended or how many deals followed.
For similar reasons, “Pakistan’s biggest” should be read as the organizers’ and government’s description rather than a neutral, independently established ranking across every technology expo in the country.
What the expo meant for Pakistan’s technology ambitions
At the inauguration, Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja spoke of an ambition for Pakistan to exceed $5 billion in annual IT exports and presented the expo as a venue for innovation, networking, partnerships and policy development, according to the PID release. That is a national objective, not evidence that the expo itself increased exports. The event’s potential value was as a place to connect firms, buyers, investors and public institutions around that wider agenda.
Before the event, the government announcement said ITCN Asia had generated $500 million in memoranda of understanding in the previous year and suggested that the 2025 edition could produce further activity. The claim refers to an earlier edition; it is not a reported 2025 result. The available public materials do not provide a detailed post-event account of 2025 agreements, their counterparties or values, or whether any were implemented.
That distinction matters. An MoU may express intent without being a binding contract, and an announced value does not by itself establish that money changed hands, a project was deployed, jobs were created or exports increased. To assess measurable economic impact, readers would need follow-up evidence on signed deals, funding, pilots, contracts, jobs and export revenue.

Exhibitor and visitor totals describe the size claimed for an event; they do not reveal whether it worked for a particular participant. More useful questions include:
- For businesses: Did meetings produce qualified prospects, contracts or implementation projects—not just badge scans and introductions?
- For international participants: Did delegations include buyers and decision-makers able to form commercial or technical partnerships?
- For startups: Did pitches lead to investor follow-up, pilots, funding or customer contracts? Visibility alone is not capital or market access.
- For policymakers: Did roundtables produce published recommendations or commitments, and did those lead to policy or regulatory changes?
- For technical professionals: Did workshops deliver practical, applicable knowledge and local deployment insight?
A broad expo can create useful connections across sectors, but breadth is not the same as technical depth. Government backing and institutional participation can help convene stakeholders; neither independently verifies attendance figures, commercial claims or downstream impact.
Bottom line
ITCN Asia 2025 was a significant gathering point for Pakistan’s technology, telecom, startup and policy communities, held in Karachi over three days in September. Its announced program reflected real areas of sector interest, including AI, fintech, cybersecurity, skills and export ambition. But the strongest claims—its “biggest” status, headline attendance figures and commercial impact—need attribution. The public materials cited here document the event’s positioning and program more clearly than they demonstrate what it delivered after the exhibition closed.
