Sí: puedes elegir Microsoft Edge para que los enlaces web se abran en él en lugar de Safari. En un iPhone o iPad actualizado, ve a Ajustes > Apps > Apps predeterminadas > App de navegador y selecciona Microsoft Edge. Esto cambia la aplicación que abre enlaces compatibles; no elimina Safari ni cambia por sí solo el buscador que usa Edge.
Antes de empezar
- Actualiza iOS o iPadOS si hay una actualización disponible. Apple recomienda tener el sistema actualizado para usar los ajustes de aplicaciones predeterminadas.
- Instala Microsoft Edge desde la App Store, o actualízalo si ya lo tienes. Comprueba que el desarrollador sea Microsoft Corporation y abre Edge una vez para completar la configuración inicial, si te lo solicita.
La ficha estadounidense de la App Store consultada indica que la versión actual de Edge requiere iOS 18 o posterior en iPhone y iPadOS 18 o posterior en iPad. Los requisitos pueden cambiar: revisa la sección Compatibilidad de la ficha de tu región. La descarga y navegación básica aparecen como gratuitas, aunque la ficha también muestra compras integradas opcionales; no necesitas una suscripción para cambiar el navegador predeterminado.
Elegir Edge como navegador predeterminado
- Abre Ajustes en el iPhone o iPad.
- Toca Apps y después Apps predeterminadas.
- Toca App de navegador.
- Selecciona Microsoft Edge y completa cualquier confirmación que aparezca.
La ruta actual de Apple es Ajustes > Apps > Apps predeterminadas > App de navegador. Según el idioma o la versión del sistema, las etiquetas pueden aparecer como «Aplicaciones» o «Aplicación de navegador». Si no coinciden, busca «navegador» o «predeterminada» en Ajustes. En iPhone y en iPad
El procedimiento es esencialmente el mismo en ambos dispositivos: el sistema del iPhone es iOS y el del iPad es iPadOS. La pantalla inicial de selección de navegador que Apple ofrece en determinadas circunstancias en la Unión Europea y Japón es distinta de este ajuste; puedes cambiar la selección posteriormente desde Apps predeterminadas.

Comprueba que el cambio funciona
Abre Mail, Mensajes, Notas u otra aplicación y toca un enlace web. Si se abre Edge, el ajuste está aplicado. Para descartar que una aplicación concreta esté controlando la apertura, prueba también desde otra aplicación.
No todos los enlaces necesariamente se comportan igual: algunas aplicaciones muestran páginas en un visor interno o tienen una opción propia para elegir cómo abrir enlaces. Por ejemplo, Outlook móvil puede ofrecer una elección entre Edge y el navegador predeterminado del sistema en ciertos casos; la opción puede no estar disponible para algunas cuentas. Edge como navegador no es lo mismo que el buscador
El navegador predeterminado determina qué aplicación abre los enlaces web compatibles. El motor de búsqueda determina qué servicio usa Edge para buscar desde su barra. Por tanto, elegir Edge no selecciona automáticamente Google, Bing ni otro buscador para ti. Si quieres cambiarlo, hazlo en los ajustes propios de Edge; los nombres exactos pueden variar según la versión. Microsoft ofrece instrucciones en la ayuda de la aplicación Edge.

- No encuentras «Apps predeterminadas»: actualiza el sistema en Ajustes > General > Actualización de software. Busca «navegador» o «predeterminada» en Ajustes por si la etiqueta o ruta varía.
- Edge no figura en la lista: comprueba en la App Store que está instalado y actualizado, abre la aplicación y completa la configuración inicial. Reinicia el dispositivo y vuelve a revisar. Reinstalar Edge puede ser un último recurso, pero no garantiza resolver todos los casos.
- Safari sigue abriéndose: confirma que Edge está seleccionado en App de navegador, actualiza Edge y prueba un enlace web normal desde otra aplicación. La aplicación original podría usar un navegador interno o imponer una preferencia propia.
- El dispositivo pertenece a una empresa o escuela: una política de administración podría restringir este cambio. Consulta al administrador en lugar de intentar eludir la restricción.
Si una aplicación compatible no aparece como opción para una función predeterminada, Apple recomienda contactar con el desarrollador. Los menús y requisitos mínimos pueden cambiar con nuevas versiones de iOS, iPadOS y Edge.

Volver a Safari o elegir otro navegador
Para regresar a Safari, abre Ajustes > Apps > Apps predeterminadas > App de navegador y selecciona Safari. También puedes elegir otro navegador compatible que aparezca en esa lista. Cambiar el predeterminado no desinstala Safari ni transfiere automáticamente favoritos, contraseñas o historial.
Edge puede encajar si ya lo usas en un ordenador o en servicios de Microsoft; Safari puede resultar más conveniente si prefieres la integración con Apple e iCloud. La decisión del navegador no obliga a cambiar de cuenta o comprar servicios adicionales, y algunas funciones pueden requerir iniciar sesión o depender de servicios opcionales.
