Lens+ is Snapchat’s paid subscription tier for exclusive and AI-powered Lenses. It is not a separate app or a replacement for Snapchat. Lens+ includes Snapchat’s 40-plus Snapchat+ features, premium Lenses, AI Lens experiences, Memories storage, and a monthly allowance for AI Lens generations. Snapchat introduced it during the second quarter of 2025, but availability and pricing vary by region and app-store account.
What is Snapchat Lens+?
Snapchat’s subscription structure has four relevant levels:
- Snapchat: the free app and its standard camera, messaging, Stories, and Lens features.
- Snapchat+: the standard paid plan with more than 40 exclusive, experimental, and early-access features.
- Lens+: a Snapchat+ plan focused on exclusive Lenses and AI-powered Lens experiences while retaining the Snapchat+ feature set.
- Snapchat+ Platinum: a higher tier that includes Snapchat+, Lens+, exclusive Lenses and AI features, expanded Memories storage, and no Story or Lens ads.
Snapchat’s current support documentation describes Lens+ as a plan within the Snapchat+ lineup, rather than a separate application. Its precise Lens catalog can change, and Snapchat does not promise that every Lens promoted at launch will remain available permanently.

What Lens+ includes now
According to Snapchat Support, the Lens+ Monthly plan includes:
- More than 40 Snapchat+ features.
- Exclusive Lenses.
- AI features and GenAI-powered Lenses.
- Memories storage equivalent to the regular Snapchat+ plan.
- A monthly allowance for AI Lens generations.
The last point is important: Lens+ does not provide unlimited AI generation. The allowance resets on the billing date. If it is exhausted, Snapchat can show how long remains until the reset and may offer an upgrade to Platinum with a higher allowance. The reviewed support documentation does not state a universal numerical limit, so claims about a specific number of generations should be treated as country-, platform-, and version-specific unless the app shows otherwise.

See Snapchat’s current plan comparison for the benefits offered to your account. The practical distinction is straightforward: Lens+ is the targeted Lens and AI tier, while Platinum bundles those benefits with larger storage and the specific Story- and Lens-ad removal Snapchat advertises.

Does Lens+ remove Snapchat ads?
Not according to the current plan descriptions. Snapchat specifically advertises no Story or Lens ads for Platinum. The Lens+ Monthly documentation does not promise a fully ad-free Snapchat experience. Therefore, do not buy Lens+ expecting the same ad benefit as Platinum.
How much does Lens+ cost?
Snapchat does not publish one universal Lens+ price in the support documentation. The app-store purchase flow shows the applicable price, billing period, taxes where relevant, and renewal terms for the user’s region and device.
That means a responsible price report must identify the country, operating system, currency, date, and whether the amount is promotional or recurring. The $3.99 monthly price associated with Snapchat+ at its 2022 launch should not be reused as current Lens+ pricing.

How to subscribe to Lens+
- Open Snapchat and sign in to the account that should own the subscription.
- Open your Profile or My Account area.
- Tap the Snapchat+ banner card.
- Select Lens+ Monthly or Snapchat+ Platinum.
- Review the price and renewal terms, then complete the purchase through Apple’s App Store or Google Play when prompted.
The subscription is attached to the Snapchat account used during purchase and cannot be transferred to another Snapchat account. Lens+ and Platinum are not available through Snapchat+ web subscriptions. If you already pay through Apple or Google, subscription changes may need to be managed through the same store account.
Where is Lens+ available?
Lens+ is not guaranteed to be available everywhere. Snapchat says Lens+ and Platinum are rolling out gradually and may be unavailable in some regions. The plan options displayed in Snapchat are the most practical availability test for a specific account.
Snap has reported that its broader Snapchat+ and subscription business exceeded 25 million subscribers globally by July 2026, but that figure does not represent Lens+ subscribers alone.

What to do if Lens+ does not appear
If the plan or its features are missing, work through these checks:
- Confirm that Lens+ or Platinum is offered in your region and on the correct Snapchat account.
- Update Snapchat from the App Store or Google Play.
- Restart the app and allow a few minutes for newly activated benefits to appear.
- Check the Apple or Google subscription account if you already have a Snapchat subscription.
- Confirm that you are signed in to the account that completed the purchase.
Regional rollout, account eligibility, store billing, and delayed activation can all explain why another user sees Lens+ while you do not.

Is Lens+ worth paying for?
Lens+ is most defensible for people who regularly use Snapchat’s camera and specifically want exclusive or AI-powered Lenses. It may also suit existing Snapchat+ subscribers who want a Lens-focused upgrade and understand the monthly AI-generation allowance.

It is a weaker choice if you mainly want:
- Ad removal: compare Platinum, which explicitly advertises no Story or Lens ads.
- More storage: Platinum may be more relevant because Snapchat lists 5TB for that tier.
- Family sharing: Snapchat’s Family Plan is designed to add two additional people, while Lens+ is not described as a family bundle.
- Unlimited AI tools: Lens+ has a monthly generation allowance.
- A web subscription: Lens+ and Platinum require the supported in-app purchase flow.
Also consider that Snapchat+ benefits can be experimental or pre-release. A single Lens or feature should not be treated as a permanent benefit.
Why Snap is pushing Lens+
Lens+ fits Snap’s broader effort to generate more direct subscription revenue instead of relying only on advertising. In its Q1 2026 investor letter, Snap said early Lens+ traction was contributing to higher subscription average revenue per user and gross-margin expansion.
Those are Snap’s own business characterizations, not evidence that Lens+ alone caused the reported changes. Snap has not disclosed a Lens+-only subscriber total or isolated its precise financial contribution.

What Lens+ means for Lens creators
Lens+ also has an ecosystem angle. Snap operates a Lens+ Payout Program for qualifying creators. A Lens must be enrolled upon submission, and Snap decides whether it qualifies under its criteria.
Potential payment considerations include views, posts, shares, favorites, daily users, time spent, geography, account status, trends, moderation, and other factors. Snap uses a proprietary formula, can change the criteria, limits payments to eligible countries, and may display estimates rather than guaranteed payments. Enrollment is therefore not a promise of distribution or income.
Bottom line
Lens+ is a real Snapchat+ subscription tier introduced in Q2 2025, aimed at users who want premium and AI-powered Lenses. It includes Snapchat+ features and a monthly AI-generation allowance, but it is not unlimited, universally available, or automatically ad-free. Check the in-app price and plan terms before subscribing; choose Platinum instead if storage and Story or Lens-ad removal matter as much as Lens access.
