Pluto TV did offer a free, ad-supported Star Trek programming event for William Shatner’s 95th birthday. The temporary promotion launched on March 20, 2026, centered on Shatner’s birthday on March 22, and was scheduled to run through April 3. It is no longer active as of September 13, 2026.
The event was a Pluto TV promotion—not a permanent change to Star Trek’s streaming rights or a franchise-wide platform takeover.

The report also listed Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, Star Trek: Nemesis, Star Trek (2009), Star Trek Into Darkness, and Star Trek Beyond as available on demand during the event.
That was the lineup reported for the birthday promotion, not a promise of continuing availability. A film airing on a Pluto TV live channel also did not necessarily mean it would remain in the service’s on-demand library.

No—not as the temporary birthday event. The pop-up category was scheduled to end on April 3, 2026. Viewers may still find older articles describing the marathon, but those reports refer to an expired promotion.
