AMD Arena is AMD’s gamified training and rewards platform for employees of current AMD Partners. Participants learn about AMD products and technologies, complete quizzes and missions, earn points and badges, compete on leaderboards, and may redeem eligible rewards. The platform remains active in 2026, but the 2020 CRN launch story should not be treated as a current course catalog or prize list.
The original program offered short lessons on CPUs, GPUs, and related technologies. AMD’s current version has expanded into broader partner enablement covering Ryzen AI, EPYC, Instinct, Radeon, Radeon PRO, sales tools, webinars, and solution topics.
What AMD Arena was—and what it is now
AMD launched AMD Arena in April 2020 as an online learning platform for its channel. It was designed for reseller owners, sales and marketing staff, system builders, technical representatives, and other partner employees who needed to understand AMD’s increasingly broad product portfolio.
The launch model was simple: learn, take a quiz, earn points, track progress, and redeem rewards. Gamification came through badges, missions, dashboards, rankings, and a leaderboard. AMD’s stated goal was to make partner training more accessible while encouraging people to return and complete additional courses.

According to the April 7, 2020 CRN report, AMD Arena began with 53 courses. Individual sessions were generally about six to 16 minutes long and covered products and technologies including Athlon, A-Series, EPYC, Ryzen, Ryzen Pro, Ryzen Threadripper, Radeon, Radeon Pro, FreeSync, and SenseMI.
That course count and those product examples describe the launch period only. AMD’s current Arena page presents a larger and newer platform rather than a static continuation of the 2020 catalog.
Who can participate?
AMD Arena is not a general consumer education site. AMD currently says participation is for employees of current AMD Partners. Its terms also require employer consent and employment verification before points can be redeemed.
- Current AMD Partner employment: A participant must work for an eligible AMD Partner.
- Employer consent: The employer must permit participation and reward redemption.
- Verification: Employment must be verified before redemption and reverified every 90 days.
- Geography and language: AMD says geographic and other restrictions apply, and courses are available only in selected languages.
- Employment changes: AMD’s terms say points should be redeemed before changing employers.
This is an important change in emphasis from the 2020 launch coverage. CRN reported that visitors could view training without registering, while an account was needed to accumulate points. AMD’s current page says an account is required to access training courses. Readers should follow the current AMD account and eligibility process rather than rely on the historical registration description.
How the learning-and-rewards system works
The basic flow remains:
- Join or access AMD Arena through an eligible partner account.
- Choose relevant courses, webinars, sales tools, quizzes, or personalized missions.
- Complete the activity and answer any required questions.
- Earn points, badges, and progress toward levels or leaderboard rankings.
- Use eligible points in the rewards store, subject to AMD’s current terms and verification rules.
The current program describes rewards as part of a broader “learn, earn, and win” experience. AMD mentions points, levels, badges, leaderboards, and a store containing AMD products, experiences, and merchandise.

However, AMD does not publicly establish one universal points-to-cash value or guarantee that a particular CPU, GPU, laptop, or other item will be available. The current catalog, regional availability, and redemption requirements may be visible only after an eligible participant signs in.
What rewards were offered at launch?
The 2020 CRN report highlighted the incentive side of AMD Arena. Launch-era examples included AMD merchandise, sporting goods, laptops, desktops, all-in-one computers, and Ryzen processors. AMD also said it planned to add Radeon graphics cards from add-in-board partners and Threadripper processors.

Those examples should be read as potential launch-era rewards, not as a promise about the 2026 store. AMD’s current terms describe possible merchandise, individual travel, and experiential rewards, while the exact inventory and thresholds remain subject to the current program.

What AMD Arena covers in 2026
AMD’s current training ecosystem extends well beyond the CPU-and-GPU focus of the launch headline. Current materials point to training and resources for:
- Ryzen and Ryzen AI processors
- Ryzen PRO
- Threadripper
- EPYC server CPUs
- Instinct accelerators
- Radeon and Radeon PRO graphics
- AI, cloud security, enterprise connectivity, and other solution areas
- Sales tools, webinars, quizzes, missions, badges, and certifications or training credentials
AMD’s Ryzen resources, EPYC resources, and Radeon resources show how the partner material now spans consumer PCs, business systems, data centers, AI workloads, graphics, and professional platforms.

Arena training should not automatically be described as an independently accredited engineering certification. AMD provides training, badges, and certifications where its current materials use those terms, but vendor enablement and neutral professional accreditation are different things.

AMD’s channel challenge was not simply getting partners to recognize the brand. Resellers and system builders had to explain differences among Ryzen, Radeon, EPYC, Threadripper, and professional products, often for very different workloads.
More structured training could help sales and marketing employees answer product questions, position AMD systems, and identify suitable workloads. Rewards and leaderboards added an incentive to complete modules instead of treating partner education as a one-time presentation.
In the 2020 CRN report, AMD channel executive Neil Spicer described a strong need for companies to train sales and marketing employees to become experts in vendor product lines. The program therefore served both an educational and a channel-loyalty purpose.
How Arena fits into the AMD Partner Network
Arena is one part of AMD’s wider Partner Network, not a replacement for it. AMD’s current partner ecosystem also includes marketing resources, sales enablement, product materials, partner portals, incentives, and technical or proof-of-concept support depending on the partner type and tier.

The Commercial Partner Network describes Registered, Silver, Gold, and Platinum tiers. Benefits differ by tier, although training and certifications are presented as part of the broader enablement offering. Higher tiers may include additional business-development, marketing, or technical support.
That distinction matters: Arena points and rewards are not the same as distributor incentives, market-development funds, sales bonuses, or other commercial benefits available through the wider partner program.

The CRN launch report compared AMD Arena with Intel Partner University, which was part of Intel’s broader Partner Alliance effort at the time. Both programs used training and points, but the reported structures differed.
Intel’s 2020 program also awarded points for activities such as purchasing qualifying products and attending distributor events. It offered competency badges for areas including Optane memory and FPGAs. A distributor executive told CRN that Intel’s longer-established channel infrastructure was an advantage.

Is AMD Arena worthwhile?
For an eligible AMD reseller employee, system builder, salesperson, or technical representative, Arena can be useful because it organizes product education into short, trackable activities. It is especially relevant to people who regularly recommend AMD systems or need to discuss products across client, workstation, gaming, and server segments.
The rewards may make recurring training more appealing, but they should not be the sole reason to participate. The time value depends on the participant’s role, the usefulness of the available courses, the local language and geography, and the rewards currently offered to that account.
There are also limits. Vendor-sponsored training naturally presents AMD’s own product positioning. It should be supplemented with independent testing, competitor knowledge, platform compatibility information, and real-world deployment experience. Arena is also a poor fit for consumers, enthusiasts, students, or unaffiliated freelancers who simply want free CPU and GPU lessons.

As of AMD’s partner materials reviewed in August 2026, AMD Arena remains an active partner-training and rewards platform. It has evolved from the 2020 launch program’s short CPU and GPU lessons into a broader enablement system covering newer processor, graphics, AI, data-center, and solution categories.
The safest way to understand the current offering is to check AMD’s Arena training page and terms and conditions. The 2020 figure of 53 courses, the launch-era prize examples, and the original registration flow should not be assumed to remain unchanged.
