iOS 26 developer beta 6, released on August 11, 2025, added six new variations of Apple’s Reflection ringtone. It also introduced a separate ringtone called Little Bird, so the update contained seven new ringtone entries if that standalone tone is included.
The discovery applies specifically to the beta build. Apple may change names, sounds, or availability before or after a public release.

The reported beta 6 lineup was:

The original reports included audio or video previews of the tones. You can hear the examples in the coverage from 9to5Mac and MacRumors. A publisher reproducing previews should use an authorized embed or licensed recording rather than extracting and redistributing Apple’s audio assets.

What exactly changed?
Reflection—the familiar iPhone ringtone—remained available as the default. Beta 6 added six alternate versions to that family: Buoyant, Dreamer, Pond, Pop, Reflected, and Surge.

That means the Reflection section reportedly contained seven choices in total:
- Original Reflection
- Buoyant
- Dreamer
- Pond
- Pop
- Reflected
- Surge
Little Bird is separate. It should not be described as another Reflection remix.
Why reports disagree about the number
The phrase “six new iPhone ringtones” is shorthand for the six new Reflection variants. It does not mean Apple added six completely unrelated ringtone families.
There are three useful ways to count the change:
- Six: the new Reflection variants.
- Seven: those six variants plus the separate Little Bird ringtone.
- Seven Reflection choices: the unchanged original Reflection plus its six variants.
There is also a small naming discrepancy. Most contemporaneous reports called one variant Pond, while an iDownloadBlog report listed Tech instead. If you are documenting a particular beta installation, use the label displayed on that build.
Reflected was previously called “Alt 1”
Reflected was reportedly present in an earlier iOS 26 beta under the temporary name Alt 1. Beta 6 gave it the more polished name Reflected.
So it is more accurate to say that beta 6 formalized or renamed Reflected rather than claiming that every tone in the list first appeared in that build.
How to select a new ringtone in iOS 26
- Open Settings.
- Tap Sounds & Haptics.
- Tap Ringtone.
- Select Reflection or one of the available tone names, such as Buoyant, Dreamer, Pond, Pop, Reflected, or Surge.
Little Bird should appear as its own ringtone if it is included in the build you are using. The exact labels or placement can differ between beta builds and later versions.
Apple’s iPhone User Guide confirms that ringtone controls remain part of the iPhone’s sound settings, but Apple’s public documentation does not provide a definitive official list of these specific beta-discovered names.
Are the tones available in the stable version of iOS 26?
The ringtone discovery was made in iOS 26 developer beta 6, not in a confirmed final-release feature list. Apple’s public iOS 26 documentation describes the operating system and ringtone customization generally, but does not establish that every beta tone and name remained unchanged.
Therefore, do not treat the beta 6 lineup as a guarantee for every later iOS 26 build. On a current iPhone, check Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Ringtone to see which tones are actually included.
Apple also notes that software features can change during development. Installing a beta solely to obtain these sounds is a poor trade-off for most users because beta software can introduce bugs, battery issues, app incompatibilities, and restore complications. Back up an iPhone before installing any beta.
Can older iPhones get these ringtones?
Apple announced iOS 26 support for iPhone 11 and later, but that general compatibility statement does not prove that every ringtone asset behaved identically on every supported model.
Some third-party sites offered extracted ringtone files for older iPhones and Android devices. Those are unofficial downloads, not Apple-hosted installations. Downloading an MP3 does not automatically make it an iPhone ringtone; depending on the device, the process may require conversion, Finder or iTunes synchronization, GarageBand, or another third-party workflow. Use caution with unknown files and do not assume that a third-party download is authorized or technically reliable.
Bottom line
iOS 26 beta 6 expanded the Reflection family with six reported variants—Buoyant, Dreamer, Pond, Pop, Reflected, and Surge—and added the separate Little Bird ringtone. The headline count is six when referring only to Reflection variants, or seven when Little Bird is counted as an additional ringtone entry. Because these findings came from a beta, verify the lineup on the iOS 26 build installed on your iPhone.
