The Razer Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC launched on August 12, 2025, and is already available. In the U.S., Razer lists it at $199.99 in black and $209.99 in Esports Green. It is a premium wireless Windows controller with 8,000Hz polling in both wired and wireless modes, TMR thumbsticks, six additional controls, and adjustable trigger stops.
It is most compelling for competitive PC players—particularly FPS players with high-refresh-rate displays. For casual or single-player gaming, the price and setup requirements make the 8K feature harder to justify.

What is the Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC?
The Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC is Razer’s PC-specific wireless controller in its 8K Wolverine lineup. It connects wirelessly through the included HyperSpeed dongle or by USB-C, and Razer says 8,000Hz HyperPolling is available in both modes.

It is not the same controller as the earlier Wolverine V3 Pro, which launched in 2024 for Xbox and PC. It is also different from the Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition 8K PC, which is wired rather than wireless.
Release date and U.S. price
Razer announced and launched the Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC on August 12, 2025. Razer’s announcement presents that date as the launch date rather than a future release window.
Prices visible on Razer’s U.S. store during the August 16, 2026 check were:
- Black: $199.99
- Esports Green: $209.99
The green edition appears to be a color upgrade, not a performance upgrade. Prices can change with promotions, taxes, shipping, and stock availability. The optional RazerCare Elite add-on was listed at $29.99 for black and $37.99 for Esports Green; compare its terms with the product warranty and retailer return policy before adding it.

Controls and input hardware
- Thumbsticks: TMR, or tunnel-magnetoresistance, anti-drift thumbsticks with replaceable caps.
- Triggers: Hall-effect analog triggers with Pro HyperTrigger stops for shorter mouse-click actuation.
- Rear controls: Four mouse-click buttons labeled M3, M4, M5, and M6.
- Top controls: Two additional multi-function claw-grip bumpers labeled M1 and M2.

TMR and Hall-effect are not interchangeable terms here: Razer identifies the thumbsticks as TMR and the triggers as Hall effect. “Anti-drift” describes the design goal and Razer’s product claim; it does not guarantee that drift is impossible over the controller’s entire lifetime.

The controller includes a 2m USB-C-to-USB-A cable and a carrying case. Razer’s support documentation lists a two-year limited battery warranty. No authoritative battery-life figure was confirmed in the reviewed specifications, so battery endurance should not be assumed.
What 8,000Hz polling means
Polling rate describes how often the controller reports input. At 1,000Hz, a device can report once every 1 millisecond. At 8,000Hz, the theoretical interval is once every 0.125 milliseconds.
That does not reduce total input-to-display latency by exactly 0.875ms in every game. The practical result also depends on the game’s input sampling, Windows, the USB controller, CPU load, wireless connection, and display refresh rate. The feature is most relevant to high-refresh-rate PC gaming and competitive shooters, especially for players who are sensitive to small timing differences.
Independent testing found that the achieved polling rate can vary by USB connection: one test measured roughly 6,250Hz through a PC case port but approached 8,000Hz through a motherboard USB port. Therefore, “8K” should be treated as a supported maximum rather than a result guaranteed by every USB setup. See Windows Central’s testing for that qualification.
Wireless and wired use
Wireless play is the main advantage over the Tournament Edition. Connect the supplied dongle, keep it positioned where it has a clean path to the controller, and avoid unnecessary hubs or sources of USB interference. Wireless play is more convenient, but pairing, firmware, and battery management add more variables than a direct cable.

Wired play also avoids battery interruptions and is the simpler choice for fixed desk setups. Neither mode should be described as delivering zero latency; that is not a realistic promise for the wireless model.

Features aimed at competitive PC gaming
Six additional controls
The four rear buttons and two claw-grip bumpers provide six remappable inputs beyond the conventional layout. In an FPS, they can place jump, reload, crouch, weapon swap, or other actions near the player’s fingers without requiring the right thumb to leave the aiming stick.
The trade-off is a learning curve. Extra buttons can be pressed accidentally until their positions become familiar, and the best arrangement depends on hand size, grip, and game.
HyperTriggers and interchangeable stick caps
The trigger switches can move between full analog control and rapid mouse-click-style actuation. Click mode suits firing or other binary actions; analog mode is more useful for throttle, braking, acceleration, and other variable inputs.

Face buttons and D-pad
Mecha-tactile PBT face buttons and the eight-way floating D-pad are intended to provide a more distinct click and actuation feel than conventional membrane controls. Whether that feel is an advantage is subjective, particularly for players who prefer quiet, softer buttons.

- Connect the controller wirelessly or with USB.
- Install or open Razer Synapse 4.
- Select Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC.
- Open Customize.
- Select the button or bumper.
- Assign its new function and select Save.
Razer documents onboard storage for up to four PC profiles. Macro recording is not supported; Razer says the limitation is intentional for a tournament-oriented controller.
The firmware updater listed for this model was v1.04.00_r1, released March 3, 2026. Razer also listed Pairing Utility v1.00.00_r1, released February 11, 2026. Check the official downloads page for newer versions before competing.
After updating, test the controller in both wired and wireless modes and verify your active profiles and polling settings. Some users have reported settings not persisting consistently between modes, but those are anecdotal reports rather than proof of a product-wide defect.
Troubleshooting common problems
The controller does not reach 8,000Hz
- Connect directly to a motherboard USB port.
- Remove USB hubs, extensions, and marginal front-panel connections.
- Update the controller firmware.
- Test in wired mode before diagnosing wireless performance.
- Remember that a game or operating system may not sample input at the same rate.
Wireless pairing fails
- Confirm that the supplied dongle is connected.
- Power-cycle the controller.
- Install or run Razer’s pairing utility.
- Update the controller firmware.
- Test with the supplied USB cable.
- Move the dongle away from possible USB interference.
Remaps or profiles are not behaving correctly
- Confirm Synapse detects the exact Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC model.
- Save the profile after changing a control.
- Check whether the controller is in wired or wireless mode.
- Verify the active onboard profile.
- Update firmware before repeating the configuration.

Is the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC worth buying?
Buy it if you are a competitive PC FPS player who specifically wants wireless play, extra controls, adjustable triggers, and a high polling rate. The combination is unusual, and the controller makes a stronger case when paired with a high-refresh-rate display and a system capable of sustaining fast input reporting.
Skip it if you mainly play slower-paced or single-player games. Those games are less likely to make the 8K feature meaningful, while the premium price and Synapse requirement remain. A less expensive wired controller may provide nearly all the practical benefit.

It is also a poor choice if you need Xbox compatibility. The earlier Wolverine V3 Pro is the Xbox/PC-oriented model, although it lacks the 8K PC model’s TMR and native 8,000Hz positioning. Conversely, players who always use a cable should compare the Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition 8K PC: it follows the same general 8K and control philosophy without wireless pairing or battery considerations.
Finally, do not buy it solely because the number “8K” sounds faster. The strongest reasons to choose it are the complete package—wireless operation, six extra inputs, TMR sticks, trigger stops, and PC customization—with 8,000Hz serving as a specialized advantage for competitive users.
