UC Browser can detect and download some web videos, but it cannot save every video. The quickest permitted workflow is: open the video page in UC Browser, play the video, tap the detected download control, choose a quality or format, and open the finished file from UC Browser’s download manager or your device’s file manager.
This works best with videos that the website exposes as a conventional downloadable file. It may not work with DRM-protected streams, private videos, login-only content, embedded players, or services that prohibit downloading.
Before you begin
- Download UC Browser from Google Play on Android or the Apple App Store on iPhone. Avoid modified APKs and unofficial download portals.
- Save only videos you own, have permission to download, or that the website explicitly makes available for download.
- Check that your phone has enough storage and use Wi-Fi if the file is large.
- Expect different controls in UC Browser, UC Mini, Android releases, iOS releases, and region-specific editions. UC’s official pages confirm the download feature, but there is no single menu path that applies to every version.
The current Android listings promote automatic video detection, one-click downloading, multiple formats, offline playback, and UC Drive integration. UC Mini is a separate Android app that advertises background and simultaneous downloads. UC Browser is also listed for iPhone; the U.S. App Store listing requires iOS 15 or later.

Method 1: Download a video using automatic detection
- Open the video page in UC Browser. Use the browser itself rather than an embedded browser inside another app.
- Start playing the video. Let the player initialize for a few seconds. UC Browser’s advertised detection feature may then expose a download icon, prompt, or floating control.
- Tap the download control. Its position and label vary by website, app edition, and version. It may appear near the player, in a floating toolbar, or in a browser download panel.
- Choose a quality or format. Higher resolution improves picture quality but uses more storage and data. Lower resolution is better for limited storage or mobile data. When available, a standard MP4 is generally easier to play and move than a site-specific or segmented format.
- Confirm the download. Open UC Browser’s download manager to monitor progress. Pause, resume, or inspect the item if those controls are available.
- Open the completed file. Use the download manager or UC Browser’s file manager. If the app offers Share, Move, Export, or Save to device, use that control to place the video somewhere easier to access.
UC’s official feature description promotes automatic detection and one-click downloading, but detection is not a guarantee that every video can be saved. A video can play normally while remaining unavailable as a downloadable file.
Method 2: Download by pasting a video URL
When automatic detection does not appear, UC Browser’s URL-based downloader may be worth trying.
- Copy the address of the video page. If the website exposes a direct media URL, you can copy that instead.
- Open UC Browser’s video-download or URL-download interface.
- Paste the address into the field.
- Tap the download command.
- Choose one of the available qualities or formats.
- Confirm the download and check its progress in the download manager.
UC’s official video-download page specifically describes pasting a URL and choosing available video quality. However, a webpage URL is not necessarily a direct video-file URL. The page may contain an embedded player, playlist, advertising scripts, login requirement, temporary link, or protected stream. In those cases, the URL method may fail even though the video plays in the browser.

Where UC Browser saves downloaded videos
There is no universal folder for every UC Browser edition and device. Check locations in this order:

- Open UC Browser’s Downloads, Download Manager, or File Manager.
- On Android, inspect the phone’s Downloads folder in Files, My Files, or another file manager.
- Look for a UC-specific folder shown by the app or device file manager.
- If the file is visible in UC Browser but not in Gallery, use its Share, Move, Export, or Save to device option.
A file may remain inside the app’s private storage, or its extension may not be indexed by the Gallery app. On iPhone, begin in UC Browser’s internal file manager. Use the app’s available Share, Save, or Open in action to export the file; the current App Store listing does not guarantee that every download can be saved directly to Apple Photos.
Downloading in the background or in batches
UC Mini is a separate Android product, not simply a setting inside the standard UC Browser app. Its Google Play listing advertises background downloading and simultaneous downloads. The exact queue controls and behavior can change with the installed release and Android’s background-activity restrictions.
Standard UC Browser also advertises download management, but do not assume that every edition supports identical queue, background, or multiple-download controls.
Using UC Drive instead of local storage
The Android UC Browser listing promotes UC Drive for storing and playing videos and currently states that it includes 20 GB of free storage. Treat that as the allowance advertised in the current Google Play description, not as a permanent universal guarantee; storage rules and availability can change by account, country, and product version.

| Option | What it means |
|---|---|
| Local download | The video is saved on the device and can usually be played without an internet connection once the file is complete. |
| UC Drive | The video is uploaded to UC’s cloud service for supported access and playback. It depends on the account, service availability, and current cloud rules. |
Uploading a video to UC Drive does not necessarily create a normal copy in the phone’s Downloads folder or Photos library. Use a separate export or download-to-device option if you need a local file.
Why there is no download button
The most common causes are:
- UC Browser did not recognize the player.
- The page uses a nonstandard embedded player or segmented stream.
- The video is DRM-protected.
- The site requires a login or blocks third-party download requests.
- The media URL is temporary or has expired.
- Your app edition, country, or version does not expose the same download feature.
Try these permitted alternatives:
- Reload the page in UC Browser.
- Start the video and wait for the player to initialize.
- Copy the page URL and try UC Browser’s URL-download interface.
- Look for the website’s own Download or offline-viewing option.
- Use the official app or desktop version of the service if it provides offline viewing.
Do not install a random “UC Browser downloader” or modified APK to bypass a restriction. That can expose your device, accounts, and files to malware or altered permissions.
Troubleshooting failed downloads
The download starts but fails
- Check available storage and delete unnecessary files.
- Switch to a stable connection and retry.
- Check whether Android is restricting UC Browser’s background activity or battery use.
- Confirm that the destination folder is writable.
- Return to the original video page instead of repeatedly reusing an old temporary media URL.
- Sign in if the source legitimately requires an authenticated session.
If the problem continues, use UC Browser’s Menu → Feedback path. Include your device model, operating-system version, the source domain, the error message, and the steps that caused the failure. See the Google Play listing for the support route.

The file downloads but will not play
- Confirm that UC Browser marks the download as complete.
- Check the file size. A very small file may be an error page or incomplete download.
- Try playing it in UC Browser.
- Try a reputable media player installed from the official app store.
- Download another offered quality or format.
- Do not rename an unknown file to
.mp4and assume that it will become a playable video.
The item may be a playlist, stream fragment, temporary file, unsupported format, or protected media rather than a finished video.

The file appears in UC Browser but not in Gallery or Photos
Use the file manager’s Share, Move, Export, or Save control. On Android, moving or copying the file to a media-indexed folder may make it visible to Gallery. On iPhone, use the export action supplied by UC Browser; iOS file handling is more restrictive and not every download is guaranteed to appear in Photos.

Android is the clearest fit for this workflow because UC Browser and UC Mini currently advertise integrated video downloading and download management through their Google Play listings. The standard Android listing also promotes UC Drive.
UC Browser is listed in the U.S. App Store and requires iOS 15 or later. The broad workflow may be similar—open the page, play the video, and use a detected download control—but iOS storage and export behavior differ. Do not assume that a file can always be moved directly to Photos or another app.

UC official help and download page
Privacy, advertising, and safety considerations
UC Browser is not a guaranteed private or ad-free downloader. Its store listings disclose advertising, in-app purchases, and data categories that may include browsing-related information, identifiers, usage data, diagnostics, or location-related data, depending on the platform and disclosure. Review the current listing and requested permissions before installing.
For safer use:
- Install only from Google Play, Apple’s App Store, or UC’s official pages.
- Keep the app and operating system updated.
- Do not grant unrelated permissions merely to download a video.
- Be cautious of download prompts that open new tabs, request payment, or ask you to install another APK.
- Do not enter account credentials into an unfamiliar mirror or “converter” page.
Legal and platform limits
Download only videos you own, have permission to save, or that the website explicitly makes available for download. Do not use UC Browser to defeat DRM, access paid content without authorization, or violate a platform’s terms. Whether downloading is lawful depends on the content, your permission, your jurisdiction, and the service’s rules.
For subscription services and social platforms, the safest option is the service’s own official offline feature when one is provided. UC Browser’s claims about support for popular video and social platforms are not a guarantee that every host, account type, or video can be downloaded.
Bottom line
On Android, the practical method is to open the video in UC Browser, play it, use the detected download control, select a quality, and locate the completed file in the browser’s download manager or the device’s file manager. If detection fails, try the URL-based downloader or the site’s official offline option. Expect limits with protected, private, login-only, or unsupported streams, and never use unofficial APKs or DRM-bypass tools.
